Meet Prabhjap
Prabhjap is an Ayr resident, small business owner, husband, and father who understands what it means to build a life in this community.
He and his family chose North Dumfries as their home because of what it offers — good neighbourhoods, a sense of community, and a place to raise a family.
Prabhjap brings a diverse background in legal studies, real estate, and small business. Through his professional and community experience, he understands the practical challenges families, homeowners, and local businesses face and the importance of responsible, community-focused decision-making.
The Plan
Six clear priorities for a stronger North Dumfries.
Families are watching every dollar. Seniors are on fixed incomes. Small businesses are facing rising costs. Municipal government should do the same. Before spending taxpayer money, ask one question: is this something residents actually need? If it is not a clear priority, it can wait.
People experience their municipality through everyday things: the road they drive on, the stop sign that needs to be added, the pothole that has been there for months. These are not glamorous issues, but they matter. Focus on fixing what residents see and experience every day.
Many residents chose North Dumfries for a certain kind of community — quieter, more connected, with a small-town feel. They should not have to watch it change overnight. Growth must respect the people already here, and infrastructure has to be ready before new development, not after.
Strong local businesses create jobs and keep money in the community. Make it easier for them to succeed, not harder. Cut red tape where it does not serve a purpose, support local entrepreneurs, and give residents more chances to shop and work close to home.
Agriculture is part of the identity of North Dumfries. Farmland is not just real estate — it is a livelihood. The Township should listen to farmers, protect rural character, and make decisions that respect the people who live and work here.
Elected representatives should be available to residents, not just during election season. Listen to residents in their neighbourhoods. Meet with business owners. Talk to farmers. Residents should always be able to get an answer — even if that answer is "I will look into it and get back to you."
